microbial systematic : bacteria

Assalamualaikum and Good Evening Dr Wan!

This week, we learnt about Microbial Systematic J

I think this is an interesting topic because this topic is the continuous from last semester.

For our first class with Dr Wan in semester 2, she gave us an assignment on group. We have to divide to seven groups.

After a long time not using the PADLET, we have to post our new group members in the padlet.com and choose our topic on Microbial Systematic. The topics are :

       I.            Bacteria
    II.            Archaea
 III.            Fungi
 IV.            Algae
    V.            Protozoa
 VI.            Virus

The first assignment is we had to seat in our group and do the mind map on the topics. As I’m in group 7, so we have to do the topic’s outline.

We use popplet.com to do this mind map. We have to use this apps is because this apps can do collaboration between us. So, it much easier for us to divided our part and do it in our own devices.

As the session is end, Dr Wan want us to present in front of the class for our next lecture.

Next lecture start with group Bacteria from awin, radin, ara, mar, zaf and josey. They present about the Bacteria in very detail way, as all of us just learnt the basic during semester 1.

After the presentation, there is Q&A session. This group can answer all of the questions! Daebakkkk!

Next, we were having our lecture with Dr Wan.

From the lecture, I know that Gram Negative Bacteria is more resistant towards antibiotic. This is because of the special features that they have :

·         Have porine
·         Have lipopolysaccharide at the outer membrane
·         Have bacterlactamase (enzymes that resist to bacterbacterlactamytering in antibody)

We also learnt about the category 1 that is the gram negative bacteria with cell walls. It divided into two that are :

·         Nonphototrophic
·         Phototrophic-oxygenic/anoxygenic

The Helicobacter and Campylobacter, Spirochetes, Chlamydias were the gram negative bacteria that have cell wall and nonphototrophic.

So that’s all from me. Till we meet again. Thanks J
