Introduction to Prokaryotes

Assalamualaikum and Good morning Dr Wan.

I hope you are good.

Today, I want to write about the first chapter of this semester course that is Physiology (BMY3103). The first chapter is Introduction to Prokaryote.

Prokaryotes have two domains that are Bacteria and Archaea.

Prokaryotes are the organisms that lack a nucleus or any other membrane bound organelles. Most of them are unicellular.

What I’ve learnt in this topic are :

                  Prokaryote diversity
·         Proteobacteria
·         Gram positive bacteria
·         Cyanobacteria
·         Spirochetes
·         Green sulfur bacteria and green non-sulfur bacteria
·         Archaea

Differences between Prokaryotes and Eukaryotes

Comparison between Bacteria and Archaea

The characteristics and function of cell  structure
·         Capsule
·         Cell wall
·         Cytoplasm
·         Plasma membrane
·         Pili
·         Flagella
·         Ribosomes
·         Plasmids
·         Nucleoid region

I think that’s all roughly about this chapter. Thankyou :)

Till we meet again! XOXO
