Intracellular Structures of Prokaryote

Assalamualaikum and Good morning Dr Wan.

The next chapter is Intracellular Structures of Prokaryotes.

In this chapter, we’re doing in group a presentation on topic that we chose.

We’ve learnt about the structure, chemistry and function of each of the structures internal to the cell wall of prokaryotes.

The intracellular structures include:
  • Plasma membrane

·         Passive transport
ü  Simple diffusion
ü  Facilitated diffusion
ü  Osmosis

·         Active transport
ü  Active transtport
ü  Group translocation
  • Cytoplasm

  • Nuclear area

  • Plasmid

  • Ribosomes

  • Inclusions
        Granules
ü  Metachromatic granules
ü  Polysaccharide granules
ü  Sulfur granules

·         Vesicles
ü  Gas vacuole
ü  Carboxysome
ü  Magnetosome
ü Lipid deposits

  • Endospores and the infectious disease caused by endospores
